BPIA Urges Congressional Support for the Office of Pesticide Programs
BPIA has joined other members of the PRIA Coalition in a letter to House appropriators responding to the President’s FY2026 Budget in Brief. The coalition urged full funding of EPA’s Office of Pesticide Programs at the $166 million level required under PRIA 5, citing persistent delays in pesticide reviews and the need for regulatory certainty. See PRIA Coalition Letter BIB_FY26_EPA_25.06.11[20] The letter acknowledged and supported the Administration’s efforts to address the growing backlog, including the proposed $10 million for internal reforms. However, the coalition emphasized that the overall proposed funding levels in the Budget in Brief fall short of what’s needed to meet statutory responsibilities. BPIA continues to advocate for the resources and structural improvements necessary to strengthen the biopesticide registration process and ensure timely access to innovative products for growers.
