Cate Thorin

Cate Thorin is the Manager of Government Relations for Novozymes, a global biotechnology company, where she covers policy for 35+ industries including household care, bio-agriculture, and animal health and nutrition.  She has over 10 years of experience in government affairs roles, including a lobbying role for a medical device manufacturing company and an aide in the U.S. Senate. 

She received her J.D. from The Catholic University of America Columbus School of Law with a Certificate in Law and Public Policy.  During her law school career, she completed a number of policy internships including time in the U.S. House of Representatives, U.S. Treasury Department, and Catholic Charities USA.  

While normally based in DC, she has been working out of her home in the suburbs of Maryland for the past year, together with her 3 kids under the age of 6, her husband, and her two ancient dogs, all of which love to make appearances in Zoom calls.
