BPIA applauds the House Committee on Agriculture for unveiling its full 2024 Farm Bill text and including regulatory reforms inspired by the Plant Biostimulant Act, H.R. 1472.

BPIA applauds the House and Senate Agriculture Committees for advancing the 2024 Farm Bill by unveiling their respective frameworks. This legislation signifies a significant stride towards bolstering our agricultural landscape, prioritizing the needs of frontline growers and consumers, and the sustainable stewardship of our natural resources.

BPIA submitted comments to the National Organic Standards Board to help rectify the USDA organic regulations’ references to the outdated EPA inert ingredient Lists 3 and 4 and improve the policies and procedures for establishing allowable pesticide inert ingredients for use in organic crop and livestock production.

BPIA and other stakeholders submitted a proposal to the CFIA to permit registrants to change suppliers of certain ingredients without submitting an Ingredient Source Change Inquiry.

BPIA filed comments regarding an ANPR concerning the EPA’s approach to regulation of seeds treated with a pesticide registered under FIFRA.

BPIA applauds the bipartisan introduction of the Plant Biostimulant Act of 2023 in the Senate and the U.S. House of Representatives (H.R. 1472). BPIA thanks Senators Mike Braun (R-IN) and Alex Padilla (D-CA) as well as Congressmen Jimmy Panetta (D-CA) and Jim Baird (R-IN) for sponsoring the bill.

BPIA and other industry stakeholders suggested the PMRA consider reviewing and modernizing regulations for dual property products containing crop protection and crop health improvement properties to enable registration of these products under single label.
