As Business Development Director for Hiphen Agricultural Imaging Solutions, Lee West is focused on bringing imaging tools to the crop research and agricultural product development community. These tools convert images from satellites, drones, and proximal sensor arrays for field, greenhouse and lab scale trial work into data to guide impactful and confident decisions on product concepts, regulatory dossiers, marketing and commercialization strategies.
Before starting with Hiphen 2 years ago, Lee worked with fermentation world leader Novozymes leading a global team of product development scientists, agronomists, and data scientists to develop fermentation based agricultural inputs. He has worked on a wide variety of biological products including mycorrhizal innoculants, fungal entomopathogens, Bacillus based fungicides, and nutrient mobilizing bacteria and fungal seed treatments. This work was focused on answering specific questions for formulation, regulatory, business development, product management, and marketing teams about how the technologies worked.
As an early member of BPIA, Lee is looking forward to the opportunity to discuss the advances of the bioproducts industry in the last 25 years and how new technologies can help bioproducts realize their significant potential to contribute to the agricultural challenges of the 21st century.
