Earlier this week, BPIA participated in the final PRIA Coalition Quarterly Stakeholder Meeting of 2019 at the United States Environmental Protection Agency’s Office of Chemical Safety and Pollution Prevention’s Office of Pesticide Programs (EPA) in Crystal City. The meeting was run by PRIA Coordinator, Steve Schaible.
The meeting included updates regarding PRIA submissions, completions, and renegotiation rates; on-time completion rates; fees collection FY’19; 45/90 preliminary technical screen; non-PRIA fast track and notifications, process improvements products chemistry; and EPA Lean Management System (ELMS) Activities/A3 Summaries. EPA’s presentation may be viewed here.

During the meeting, Robert McNally, Director of the Biopesticides and Pollution Prevention Division (BPPD), explained

that BPPD’s current ELMS project is intended to address the consistency of
90-day technical screens and improve the quality of communication by reducing internal re-work. Tools in development include detailed checklists for each guideline study, instructions to reviewers, and templates for screening memoranda with good examples. McNally specifically asked for suggestions from BPIA for future ELMS project. If you have any such suggestions, please let us know here.
