BPIA joined more than 100 agricultural organizations in a letter to Senate appropriators supporting adequate staffing levels at USDA’s Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) and Farm Service Agency (FSA).
The coalition expressed concern that ongoing staffing shortages and office consolidations are limiting producers’ access to conservation programs, technical assistance, disaster support, and other critical USDA services. The letter urged Congress to provide sufficient funding for agency staffing and to help prevent further reductions in local office capacity.
For the biological products industry, a strong USDA field presence is critical to ensuring farmers can effectively access conservation programs and technical resources that support the adoption of innovative agricultural technologies. BPIA was proud to join a broad coalition of agricultural stakeholders in advocating for USDA’s ability to deliver these important services.
