The Biological Products Industry Alliance (BPIA) applauds the U.S. Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry for advancing the bipartisan Farm Bill, marking an important step toward delivering a comprehensive Farm Bill for America’s farmers, ranchers, and rural communities. BPIA commends Chairman John Boozman (R-AR) and Ranking Member Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) for their leadership and continued work to move the Farm Bill process forward. A key provision of the legislation is the Plant Biostimulant Act, an important priority for BPIA and the broader agricultural community. BPIA especially thanks Senator Roger Marshall (R-KS) for his continued leadership as a champion of the Plant Biostimulant Act, as well as Senator Alex Padilla (D-CA) for his bipartisan leadership and support in advancing this important legislation. “Advancing the Farm Bill out of committee is an important milestone for American agriculture,” said John W.S. Dunmore, Director of Government and External Affairs at BPIA. “The Plant Biostimulant Act will help provide the regulatory clarity needed to support continued innovation and ensure farmers have access to more tools in the toolbox to meet the challenges they face in the field.” Plant biostimulants can improve nutrient use efficiency, support plant and soil health, and strengthen crop productivity and resilience. Establishing a clear and consistent federal framework for these products is an important step toward ensuring they can continue to play a growing role in American agriculture. With the Farm Bill advancing out of committee, BPIA looks forward to continuing to work with lawmakers to build on this bipartisan progress, bring the legislation to the Senate floor, and ultimately get a final Farm Bill across the finish line for America’s farmers and the broader agricultural community.
