The Biological Products Industry Alliance (BPIA), through its participation in the Food and Agriculture Climate Alliance (FACA), joined a coalition letter to Senate Agriculture Committee leadership outlining key priorities for Farm Bill reauthorization.
The coalition urged Congress to maintain strong support for USDA conservation programs, including the Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP), Conservation Stewardship Program (CSP), Regional Conservation Partnership Program (RCPP), Agricultural Conservation Easement Program (ACEP), and Conservation Reserve Program (CRP). These programs help producers voluntarily adopt practices that improve soil health, water quality, resilience, and long-term productivity.
The letter also emphasized the importance of ensuring USDA has the staffing, resources, and administrative capacity necessary to effectively deliver conservation programs and technical assistance. In addition, the coalition highlighted the value of continued investment in agricultural research and innovation to provide farmers with access to science-based tools and technologies.
As Congress continues work on the next Farm Bill, BPIA supports policies that strengthen conservation programs, invest in agricultural innovation, and provide farmers with access to a broader range of tools and technologies, including biological products that improve productivity, resilience, and sustainability.
