BPIA recommended that a new workgroup be created to help encourage the international acceptance of reduced-risk products through harmonization of MRLs and exemptions from tolerances.

On April 27th, the House Agriculture Subcommittee on Biotechnology, Horticulture and Research held a hearing on “Federal Actions and Policies Affecting Costs of Production and Impacting the Rural Economy.” BPIA was asked to submit written testimony for the hearing.

BPIA believes that regulations should be based on the best available science, deliver appropriate health and environmental protection, and fully build upon the decades of experience that USDA has in reviewing both GE and non-GE microorganisms.
